Sydenham Bus Layover – Railway Road & Burrows Avenue

Managing contaminated pavement materials while delivering comprehensive pavement reconstruction and asphalt resurfacing.

The project

Vulcan Infra delivered asphalt pavement works for the Sydenham Bus Layover project, including pavement profiling, full pavement construction and asphalt resurfacing.

The project involved working through contaminated pavement material containing coal tar, requiring careful coordination of material testing, waste classification and appropriate disposal.

Through effective planning, site coordination and management of the contaminated material requirements, Vulcan Infra facilitated the pavement reconstruction and resurfacing works while addressing the site's environmental and construction challenges.

The project demonstrates Vulcan Infra's capability to manage complex pavement rehabilitation works involving contaminated materials, integrating technical requirements with practical construction delivery.
